New York State Farmers Markets

New York State produce simply tastes better.

Across New York State, hundreds of regularly scheduled farmers markets and countless roadside farmstands present an ever-expanding variety of farm-fresh products from freshly picked apples to local corn, tomatoes, and herbs. Many markets also feature artisanal condiments and treats.

In the Finger Lakes, CNY Regional Market in Syracuse, one of the oldest and largest in the state, represents more than 400 farmer-growers, while Rochester Public Market, with more than 300 stalls, has been operating for longer than a century. Buffalo's Elmwood Village Farmers Market has goods like smokehouse sausages, honey from local apiaries, regional wines, and dairy products.

In the Hudson Valley, Rhinebeck Farmers Market features cooking demonstrations to showcase local products and the year-round Beacon Farmers Market features live music.

Even New York City has its own farmers markets, with upstate farmers bringing in fresh-picked produce. Union Square Greenmarket is one of the largest and most famous of many Greenmarkets in New York City. Don't be surprised to find your favorite celebrity chefs shopping for ingredients!
