Hunter, NY (Thursday, Nov. 20) - Hunter Mountain opens Saturday, November 22 at 9:00 a.m., for the 2025/26 winter season! We are excited to welcome skiers and riders back to the Catskills with top-to-bottom skiing and riding from the summit. The day kicks off with breakfast taquitos, a live DJ on Danny’s Way, giveaways, and a banner break at 9:00 a.m. on the Kaatskill Flyer.

While New York boasts more ski areas than any other state in the country, the Olympic Authority’s flagship mountains — Whiteface, Gore, and Belleayre — play a central role in the state’s publicly supported outdoor recreation network.

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that the transformation of the Sullivan County International Airport into a modern, state-of-the-art travel facility has been completed, heralding continued economic growth and tourism in the Catskill Region. The project, which started in May 2023, was awarded $18.5 million from the Governor’s $230 million Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competition, with the funding administered by the New York State Department of Transportation. The project created a modern, 15,000-square-foot, energy-efficient terminal facility that will provide a pleasant, welcoming experience for visitors, local businesses and community members alike.
